Est. 2019 — Linz, Austria

Our story

From a borrowed Braumeister and a plastic bucket to a full stainless setup — this is how a handful of friends turned a weekend hobby into an obsession.

2019

Where It All Started

Five friends attended a home brewing course in Vienna. Five beer enthusiasts who couldn't find the variety or styles they craved in Austria — and even less in Linz. After that course, a friend who "just wanted to get rid of it" handed over a huge amount of equipment, including a Braumeister 20. The first batch was brewed on that system and fermented in a humble plastic bucket.

Going Deeper

On those first few brew days we found a genuine love for the craft. The decision was made to dig deeper and invest properly — a stainless steel fermenter replaced the bucket, we started kegging our beer, and added a dedicated HLT (Hot Liquor Tank) to streamline brew day.

2020

The Next Upgrade

The next upgrade arrived fast. New Grainfather fermenters with active cooling for precise temperature control, a proper stainless steel table with professional cleaning tools, and a new fridge. Turns out not all fridges are created equal — this one was evil and got replaced after just a few weeks.

2021

The Brewtools B80

Despite all the good effort and countless brew days, the fridge was still running empty. The next huge upgrade was inevitable — and probably the best decision ever. Investing in a Brewtools B80 brewing system meant jumping to 60 liters per batch. Turns out this beast of a tool just started the real fire.

2021

Fancy Tools

Always trying new things, always more tools. The brewing room was changing at rapid speed — spunding valves, a proper kegerator with four taps, the first of the 5L iKegger kegs (well, the first... now there are many more), and a new crane to help lift the heavy malt pipe. That same crane dropped it on someone's head a month later.

2021

More Space

Part of the work room was converted into dedicated malt storage. Bigger batches meant buying raw materials in bulk — turns out it's less than half the price when you order larger quantities. And of course, more tools. Lots more Brewtools accessories, monitoring gadgets, and everything needed to keep leveling up.

2021

Even More Space

The brewing room was originally supposed to be a sauna when the house was remodeled in 2001. Unfortunately — or lucky for us — that project died because of budget and was never touched afterwards. So we decided to remove the walls, add piping, electricity, and a proper floor for a proper brewing room.

2021

My First Unitank

Brewtools released their first unitank — I had to get it. It improved the brewing beyond all expectations. Less problems with oxygen, natural carbonation, and more toys to play with. My girlfriend decided to dress up as a "fermenter" for carnival, which was a pretty awesome idea.

2021

New Friends

Selling the old fermenters was kinda painful because we had lots of fun with them — but it led to meeting new friends. Turns out home brewers are all nice people. We met Peter (now Tiny House Brew Lab), an awesome guy from Wels who shares the passion for brewing. We still do brew days together several times a year and it's always a pleasure. And of course — I had to buy the second fermenter Brewtools released. The B150pro and new Ss Brewtech cooling.

2021

Upscaling for More Flexibility

Selling stuff led to one guy asking "you're not selling your B80, are you?" The seed was planted — and since it's very difficult to get ideas out of my head, the B150 arrived a little after that. Another small change in the cooling too — after the fridges were too small all the time, a proper walk-in cold room was the only thing to get.

2022

Logo and Brand Is Born

During a brew day we came up with the name BrewAiry — since most of the brewers and people attending brew days (except Peter) were active skydivers, the name fit quite nicely. Micha and Simon took the lead on that. Micha designed the awesome logo on paper and a graphics crowd did the fine tuning (no AI available back then). We celebrated with the first canning session of a Milkshake IPA.

2022

The Joy of Homemade Beer

We did not forget about what this is all about. Countless brew days with IPA, NEIPA, Czech Lager, Pilsner, Hazy, Pale Ale — you name it. Sharing fresh craft beer with friends at the wind tunnel or just enjoying a perfectly poured glass at home. That's what it's all about.

2022

Small Batches Are Back

The process was stabilizing so the need for experimenting came back. A Brewtools F80 was added to have all sizes and the flexibility to do smaller or split batches again. Some will call that a waste of money — well, it's working. We don't do so many batches but all three fermenters are full, because beer needs time in the fermenter.

Camping Will Never Be the Same

And so will skydiving events. The group was out for skydiving and we took advantage of our hobby. Turns out that works even when the beer cans are out in the sun for a week. Then I found "THE" beer suit.

2022

Diplom Biersommelier

Oktober 2022 — two weeks of intense training in Obertrum. Many new techniques, beer styles, and sensorik training opening new doors. Danke an Jens for the training.

2022

Early Christmas

Micha got me an early Christmas present. Imported from CZ — BrewAiry craft beer glasses. What an amazing gift. Some of them came with personal engraving of the most common people and closest friends over here.

2023

More Tools

Thanks to 3D printing and electronics, our tap handles are a lot nicer now — NFC programmable without any battery. A new Brewtools multi-stage filter also arrived, very handy to get everything out of the fermenter without losing the start or end of the batch.

2023

Braumeister Camp

Joined the Braumeister Camp in Wildshut — 2 days of brewing with professional Brewmasters, seminars, tastings and food pairing. Very intense, it's worth going there at least once. I arrived home with a lot more knowledge and met awesome people on the way.

2023

Nationals

Two times second place at the nationals — that was a blast. Met nice people, even the Austrian beer pope Conrad Seidl.

2023

New Entrance

Lots of brews, but no change — so it was time for some polishing of the entrance. New furniture and new tiles for the entrance and the stairs.

2025

Another Milestone — The FCS

After a long wait, Brewtools was able to finalize their Fluid Control System. We use it to control fermentation for all fermenters now.

2025

More Awards

Austrian Beer Nationals — second place for me and second place for Alex, another home brewer from Linz who is doing fantastic lagers. I maxed out my photobomb skills.
